Vampire Weekend is a nice little indie rock band out of NYC. They first came into popularity via the blogosphere, most notably when they were listed on Stereogum, a fine blog I may say. They seem to have the roots of many other great indie bands from NY such as the strokes, yeah yeah yeahs, etc. They all attended prestigious colleges in the area and met up there (Columbia in this case for VW). Their latest album dropped recently and has achieved great reviews with many in the indie rock scene. Their album even scored an impressive 8.8 from pitchfork.
