Once more, “The Next Rapper in Line” reminds us just why he claims “Hip Hop” as a pseudonym on Lloyd’s “You.” As the one redeeming quality of Murder, Inc. (unless the Shyne deal materializes), Lloyd steps up on this track. His soft crooning over an equally smooth synth-ridden bounce beat is complimented by Wayne’s raspy Holly Grove drawl. The closing verse by Weezy Wee contends for the best of the year. His flow and signature wit have never been sharper (“You know you give good brain like you graduated from a good school…”). Woof.
