My feelings are a little mixed on this new YYY's material. At first listen I was a little turned off by their new eletro-ish feel, but upon further listening it grew on me a bit. Cant wait to see the rest of the album, regardless, when it drops.
So someone has produced a new game for NES called "D-Pad Hero" (check it out here)... Not only is the title menu AERODYNAMIC but one of the featured levels is Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger. Daft Punk 8-bit sounds sick... check out the videos below.
Ridiculous. A personal highlight was Whitney Houston's defiant statement to the music world that she is back... on coke. A close runner-up was Chris Brown's absence from the ceremony amid reports that he beat up Rihanna (for the record, that's "beat up" in the Eminem sense, not the Ying Yang Twins' one).
Need more? Google "Lil Wayne Jay Z nine months pregnant" or "Bono eye liner coked up" and look at all the fucking results.
Killa's back after a year and a half of doing... well, nothing. Regardless, Cam brings the cheese on this jam. The dooty-rap pioneer goes working class in the song, an endearing gesture coming fro the guy who wrote "Suck it or Not." Also, lookout for the girl sparking the blunt cobrastyle outside of her office less than a minute into the video.
Cam's forthcoming album, Crime Pays, drops (in a perfect world) on April 21.
For today's entree we are featuring a couple more tunes from DJ Herbman's vinyl .zip files he put up on his site. Check out one of my earlier posts for the links for his blog and the files, they are dynamite.
Props* to DJ Herbman's vinyl posts on his great blog for a good part of today's entree. Check out his for site here for the large .zip file of his vinyl treasure. Other than those track todays post includes some lounge/disco house and a little dubstep.
I am a little bit of MSTRKRFT, a little bit of dubstep Handful of drum kits but I can't help the fact That everybody can see these tracks on zshare I am what I want you to want, what I want you to feel But it's like no matter what I do, I can't convince you To just believe this is synthesized So I, let go watching you turn your back like you always do Face away and time to pretend that I'm not But I'll be here cause you're all that I've got
Todays entree is essentially an ode to popular 60's and early 70'smusic. With a little help from Pitchfork as well as discogs I was able to delve into some much older tracks that have a much more sound generally than most of the electronic music posted here. The tracks range from the classic jazz of coltrane to the early blues rock of the Yardbirds. You can practically hear Clint Eastwood in Ennio's masterpiece soundtrack.
