New Kraak and Smaak single

Ive never heard of these guys until their latest single "Squeeze Me" blew up on the blogosphere. Rightfully so however, these guys combine aspects of funk, disco, and electro with the voice of Ben Westbeech. This track sounds great as well as a bunch of their other tracks. Check out their space, they have some tight tracks on there as well.

Pogo x the Horrors

Ah, at last one of my top 5 songs of recent times being remixed by my favorite NME-famous band, the Horrors. Makes for pure gold, this remix is a must have. VIA FLUOKIDS

Hall & Oates

A combination of an 80's downloading spree and the Phantom Revenge's mix "I can't stop bullets" led to the reemergence of some Hall & Oates in my daily listening. These two guys pretty much epitomize what was great about the 80's- cocaine and mustaches. These are two classic tunes, Maneater and Private Eyes.

Maneater (original 12' extended club mix)
Private eyes

Danger

While Danger remains one of my favorite electro artists, I feel like he doesnt get as much respect in the blogosphere and such. His stuff is absolute gold from his original songs to his remixes. Here is a nice remix he did of Sebastien Tellier's Divine. Its a little slower moving then other danger tunes, but i like his signature sound with a little slower pace, its kinda nice.

"For your love" by chilly

The classic 1965 tune "For your love" was originally played by the Yardbirds. However the late 70s German disco outfit Chilly covered the song in an 11 minute cover that absolutely kills it. A great vintage track no doubt. I dug this up over at 20jazzfunkgreats which is a great blog that encompasses so many different genres, id definitely recommend it to any music fan in general.

VUVUVUVUVUVUVUVUVUVU

A song entitled only by the sound it makes automatically is good, especially when it is entirely made up of crescendoing synth beats . The b-side to MSTRKRFT's "Bounce" EP features the song "VUVUVU". "VUVUVU" appeals to me alot more than "Bounce" for some reason, i think "Bounce" is too much of that generic eletro sound going around now. The track has been circulating on the blogosphere as of late, but mainly only live versions of it. The song definitely gets the crowd moving as it did at the latest studio b concert I was at. Here are both sides of the EP.

Modjo

Modjo is a parisian duo consiting of Romain Tranchart and Yann Destals.

They are very talented musicians and play a wide range of instruments.

They have been doing it pretty big for a quite a while for the club and house scene.

They have been remixed by the buffalo bunch, play paul.

I like these guys, theyre really good and according to other blogs Romain is supposedly to work with a reemerging Crydamoure.

Lady might be familiar to some of you if you havn't heard it yet.

Check out the tracks on the Buffalo Bunch's website http://www.buffalobunch.com/

Fred Falke and Alan Braxe remixes of jamiroquai

Braxe and Falke released two Jamiroquai remixes from 06-07 and they do not dissapoint. The lyrics of Jay Kay work well with the Braxe/Falke sound. Im a big fan of Jamiroquai and the Falke/Braxe combo so these remixes work for me.

Chew Fu's RMX of "I Want You Back" by J5

Chew Fu has thrown out a real bangin' remix of the timeless J5 tune "I want you back". Its not really about explaining it, you just have to listen to it. It features typical electro synths over brief samples of the J5 classic. Sounds like a real good party song that will get people moving.

BMX

I stumbled across this track "Theme to BMX" on the great BIGSTEREO blog. The song instantly hit my new playlist. The song features 80's-esque synths (see Crystal Castles, Miami Horror, etc.) with some very catchy lyrics that actually make this song very danceable. I like the direction this new group took this 80s synth sound that was becoming popular and making it danceable without the aid of psychedelic drugs (see Crystal Castles again). According the blog the group is very very new and doesnt even have a myspace yet. I cant wait to hear some new stuff from these guys.

Surkin - Next of Kin

Surkin (Institubes/Paris, France) finally drops his second EP entitled "Next of Kin". For those in the know this track was featured on Justice's cancelled Fabric mix. Now it is out along with two other great tracks: White Knight Two - an upbeat track proving again that chopping up a melody and rearranging it always makes it more exciting (alla Daft Punk's "Face to Face") and Kid Gloves - which I find to be uninspired choppy electro. Personal preferences aside this is an EP worth picking up off of Itunes for the title track alone.

Weeds

After wasting 12 hours barraging through the first two seasons of weeds (roughly so after seeing some episodes twice), I have to say it is a great show. A drama/comedy that brings Friedrich Dürrenmat's style of writing to sitcom tv from my perspective. After reading Die Physiker and now going through Der Besuch des Alten Dame, I find myself clinging to this semi comedy/semi drama genre of film,tv, play, etc. The theme song is fabulous as well so here it is.

Malvina Reynolds- Little Boxes

Crooks and Gunn Psych

The Vancouver duo of Crooks and Gunn have been known for their b-more beats type style. Their songs have been pretty catchy and good, but none caught my ear particularly. However their latest twist on Bernard Herrman's Psycho theme song has really been on the playlists the last couple of days. It features a drum beat that you would expect of Crooks and Guns along with chopped up screams and different variations of the theme song.

Theme from Psycho (Crooks and Gunns Pysch! remix)

The sneakers are from Nikes 2008 Summer/Holiday SB line. Pretty tight mids if you ask me.
